The art of beeswax candle making
Our candle-making process at Shropshire Soap is truly special. We exclusively use 100% pure beeswax sourced as a by-product from local honey production here in Shropshire. This means we're turning the wax cappings into beautiful, naturally yellow wax ideal for candle making. The colour may vary from batch to batch and season to season, showcasing nature's artistry. Every candle is handmade with the finest quality beeswax and a natural cotton wick. We guarantee no paraffin, nasty chemicals, or synthetic fragrances – only pure essential oils for a truly authentic and aromatic experience.
Nature's perfect product
Pure, unscented beeswax stands alone as one of nature’s perfect creations. When burning, it releases a delicate fragrance reminiscent of pollen and nectar, creating a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere unlike any other candle. Beeswax candles outshine others with a longer and cleaner burn due to their higher melting point. You’ll notice smokeless flames that emit more light and heat and are virtually drip-free. While beeswax candles may initially seem more expensive, their extended burn time balances the cost. Paraffin wax burns much faster, making beeswax the more economical choice in the long run.
The art of the cure
At Shropshire Soap, we take extra care with our candles by curing them for 7 days. While not strictly necessary, this allows the beeswax to harden further before use. If essential oils have been added, this extra period ensures an even distribution of fragrance throughout the wax, ensuring a consistent and delightful aroma from beginning to end.
