Yuzu, cedarwood, and bergamot essential oils offer both aromatic and skin benefits when used in cold process soap, ranging from skin-cleansing properties to mood-boosting effects.

The blend of these three essential oils creates a well-rounded scent profile, typically featuring the citrus top notes of yuzu and bergamot, complemented by the woody base note of cedarwood.

  • Yuzu: Known for its bright, uplifting, and energizing citrus scent, yuzu can help relieve stress and promote a sense of freshness and vitality.
  • Cedarwood: As a base note, cedarwood has a deep, warm, and woody aroma that grounds the blend and helps to create a sense of peace and calm, soothing the nerves.
  • Bergamot: This oil provides a unique sweet, slightly spicy citrus scent with floral accents that is both uplifting and relaxing, elevating mood and helping with relaxation.

When incorporated into a nourishing cold process soap base (which often includes moisturizing oils like olive, coconut), these essential oils contribute their natural therapeutic properties to help cleanse and care for the skin.

  • Yuzu: Possesses anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that can help soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, and protect the skin from environmental stressors. It may also be beneficial for those with acne or eczema.
  • Cedarwood: Helps to clarify, smooth, and tighten the skin. It is useful for both dry and oily skin conditions and helps boost circulation.
  • Bergamot: Known for its skin-cleansing and purifying properties, bergamot is a natural astringent and can help reduce excess sebum (oil) production, making it beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin. It also offers antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits.
